The Government has Decided to Conduct The Kerala Teachers Eligibility Test – KTET 2020 Exam Once Again in the Current year to help more Number of Candidates to Apply for Kerala TET 2020 The State Government has announced the TET Kerala 2020 Latest Schedule now.


The Kerala TET 2020 will be held as per following schedule


1. Advertisement Released Date : 10.08.2020

2. Online registration starts from: 11.08.2020

3. Submission of registration fee through e-challan starts from: 11.08.2020

4. Download Hall Ticket Online : 15.09.2020

5. Last date of online registration (STEP 1): 24.08.2020 

6. Last date of online registration (STEP 2): 26.08.2020 

7. Date of Examination (Category I & Category II) : 03.10.2020

8. Date of Examination (Category III & Category IV) : 17.10.2020


Kerala TET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

A. Category I : For Lower Primary classes

Minimum Qualifications  for KTET 2020 :

1. Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary ( or its equivalent ) with at least 45% marks and two year Trained Teachers’ Certificate ( TTC ) [ by whatever name known ] conducted by Board of Examination, Government of Kerala or its equivalent.

OR

2. Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary ( or its equivalent ) with at least 45% marks and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education ( by whatever name known ), in accordance with NCTE ( Recognition Norms and Procedure ), Regulations 2002.

OR

3. Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary ( or its equivalent ) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education ( B.El.Ed. )

OR

4. Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary ( or its equivalent ) with at least 50% marks and 2 year Diploma in Education ( Special Education ).

Relaxation of qualifying marks to apply for K TET 2020.

Relaxation of 5% in qualifying marks is admissible for candidates belonging to SC / ST and Differently abled categories. ( As per the norms or as desired by the Government of Kerala ) and relaxation of 3% in qualifying marks is admissible for OBC & OEC candidates.

B. Category II : ( For Upper Primary classes ) :

Minimum Qualifications for KTET 2020 :

i) B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education / Trained Teachers’ Certificate ( TTC ) [ by whatever name known ] conducted by Board of Examination, Government of Kerala or its equivalent. OR

B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com with at least 45% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education ( B.Ed. ), in accordance with NCTE ( Recognition, Norms and Procedure ) regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR

Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary ( or its equivalent ) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education ( B.El.Ed. ) OR

Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary ( or its equivalent ) with at least 50% marks and 4 year B.A. / B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed or B.Sc.Ed.

C. Category III ( For High School classes ) :

Those who possess minimum educational qualifications as delineated here under are eligible to appear for K TET III. The test is for HSAs in : (i) Malayalam (ii) English (iii) Hindi (iv) Sanskrit (v) Tamil (vi) Kannada (vii) Arabic (viii) Urdu (ix) Social Science (x) Physical Science (xi) Natural Science and (xii) Mathematics.

Minimum qualification for KTET 2020 :
  1. BA / BSc / B.Com with at least 45% marks and a B.Ed. Degree in the subject concerned ( from any one of the Universities in Kerala or have acquired these qualifications from any other Universities recognized as equivalent thereto. )
  2. For Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, those who have MSc.Ed. Degree in the subject concerned with not less than 50% marks from one of the Regional Institutes of Education sponsored by NCERT will be eligible to apply. For Botany and Zoology subjects, those with MSc.Ed. Degree in Life Science with not less than 50% marks from any of the Regional Institutes of Education are eligible to apply.
D. Category – IV :

For Language teachers in Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu ( up to Upper Primary level ), Specialist teachers and Physical Education teachers ( up to High School level )

For teachers of Art Education and Craft Education, the existing, eligibility norms prescribed by the State Government shall be applicable till the time when NCTE lays down the minimum qualification.

This test will be for the category of candidates who intends to be a language teacher up to Upper Primary classes and fulfills the minimum qualifications ( For specialist teachers & Physical Education teachers, the Eligibility Test is applicable up to High School level ).


Kerala TET 2020 Application Form

Candidates are required to apply online application form from the official website . After successfully submission of application form, candidates need to take print out of duly filled application form for future references.

Application Fee:

The Exam fee for Paper I (K-TET I) is Rs. 500/-(Rupees five hundred only);. Application fee/ Exam fee for Paper II (K-TET II) is Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred only); Application fee/ Exam fee for Paper III (K-TET III) is Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred only). Fee for reserved categories such as SC/ST and differently abled categories is Rs.250/- each (Rupees two hundred and fifty only).

Kerala TET 2020 Selection Procedure

1. A person who scores 60% or more in the K-TET examination will be considered ‘KTET passed’ or ‘K-TET qualified’. This will be the qualifying marks for all categories.

2. Negative Marks: There shall be no negative marks for the test.


Kerala TET 2020 Syllabus

Category I: The Exam Paper will consists of Questions on

1. Child Development and Pedagogy
2. Language I-Malayalam/ Tamil/ Kannada
3. Language II- English/Arabic
4. Environmental Studies
5. Mathematics

Category II: The Exam Paper will consists of Questions on

1.Child Development and Pedagogy
2.Language I-Malayalam/ Tamil/ Kannada/English
3.Language II- Malayalam/English/Hindi/Arabic/Urdu/ Sanskrit
4. a. Science & Mathematics
b. Social Science

Category III: The Exam Paper will consists of Questions on

1. Adolescent Psychology, Theories of Learning and Teaching Aptitude.
2. Language I: Malayalam/English/Tamil/Kannada
3 .Subject specific areas (Content & Pedagogy)

Category IV: The Exam Paper will consists of Questions on

1.Child Development, Pedagogy & Teacher Aptitude
2. Language Malayalam/English/Tamil/Kannada
3. Subjects specific paper (Content & Pedagogy).


Kerala TET 2020 Admit Card
Candidates will be able to download their Admit Card before the two weeks of the exam. Candidates are requested to visit the same website to download their Admit Card For Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) Exam 2020.

Procedure to download Kerala TET 2020 Admit Card Online

1:- Log on to the official website.

2:- Follow the link of “Examination” and click on 'Admit Card'.

3:- Enter Registration Number in the space provided.

4:- Hall Ticket/Admit Card will be show on your screen.

5:- Print-copy or Download in your computer.
